Today, for the first time since living in metro Denver, we heard tornado sirens. Some nasty looking black clouds were moving through the area. My cell phone went off with a weather alert. It went off twice before I checked it and it said there was a tornado warning for Denver, CO. All of a sudden, I heard sirens outside. I went to the porch to listen a little closer and sure enough...tornado sirens. I went upstairs and alerted Joi and we both came down to decide what to do. We turned on the television and watch the ABC News Weather Alert. The storm was north of us. There wasn't really and wind, rain, or hail falling where we were, but the news said that some ping-pong sized hail was falling just a few miles north-east of us. Fun..fun...fun.
Also, today, we saw two male Elk with huge racks eating grass in the Nature park across the street from our house. We pulled over and got out of the car to see them better. Another person who pulled over had binoculars and let us take a closer look. They were HUGE and beautiful. This is the first time we've seen Elk in the Bear Creek area. It was very, very cool.
