Mom Starts Chemo Today

My Mom will be starting chemotherapy today to combat her breast cancer. She has a great and positive attitude. I am very impressed with how she is handling this whole thing. She's definitely a positive role model. My Mom is leaning heavily on her faith in God and God's power to see her through this. She is using all possible modern medical advancements to combat the cancer, but her faith is grounded firmly in God's ultimate power and strength. While I can't do anything medically to help her through this, I can go to our God regularly on her behalf and ask for healing, for strength, for no or little side-effects, and for a safe season of chemo, surgery, and radiation. For the God that holds the universe together, cancer is such a little thing for Him to handle. It wasn't God's design for my Mom to get cancer. This is part of living in a fallen world. We get sick, we decay, and we will all eventually die. But, God has a plan through this. I don't see this plan. As the bible says, "I see through a glass darkly". I can only see the small picture. But, God sees the big picture. He knows how this will all turn out and what differences it will make to everyone involved along the way. My Mom and I both trust Him. And because of that trust, we can both rest in His peace. I love you, Mom.

My prayers are with Jan today, too, and also with Diane. I'll email you about that.

Your mom is in our prayers. How did it go today?

It went well. The blood of Jesus covered me and it was very do-able. It had a side effect of feeling like I was slightly drunk. I slept and that went away. God is faithful and I am healed in HIS timing. Thank you for the prayers.
